New Port Beach

We were unable to go to the Beach on Sunday, July 4th because we got there so late. So we decided to go to Newport Beach on Thursday July 8th. It was overcast and very windy on the pier, but that didn't stop the kids from jumping in the water! They had so much fun and Triston talks about the beach all the time.

We stayed there for about 2 hours and washed up and started heading home.

It was such a long drive, that we decided to stop in Mesquite to get some needed sleep. We headed home the next morning. I wish that I could have afforded to fly, but at least we were able to go on a vacation this year.

Disneyland Day 3

We decide to go to both parks on the 3rd day and just ride what we wanted to ride. We walked into Disneyland and there were tons of characters, and of course we had to get pictures with Mickey Mouse. Triston loves Mickey Mouse, he wasn't shy at all. Shara was pretty excited to.

After getting pictures with Mickey, we decided to take the train around the park. While Triston was climbing up into the train he tripped and scrapped up his knee. He wasn't very excited to ride on the train.
After we rode the train around the park we decided to go to Fantacyland land. So we headed towards the castle. We were able to get some pictures, but they didn't turn out very well.
The first ride we rode on was none other than Dumbo. The kids had fun.
Then Shara and Katelyn went on the Tea cups while Trison and I watched and ate some popcorn.
We then went to the Story Book ride. I haven't been on this ride for years, I wasn't missing much. It was really short and the kids weren't excited.
We then headed back over to the Buzz Lightyear ride. We ate lunch and relaxed for a while then we decided to go on the space ship ride. Triston was excited at the beginning, but once the ride started he got scared. Then we decided to go see if Buzz Lightyear character was back. I was so excited to see Buzz, because Triston has been into him for a while. Unfortunately he was pretty shy when we first got up to him, but he warmed up really fast.
We then headed over to Pirates Lair. The kids had a blast climbing and getting dirty. Triston didn't want to leave. We then decided to head over to California adventures.

Of course we had to stop off and get a picture at the main entrance.
We decided to grab and ice cream and head over to the Pixar play parade. Unfortunately it hasn't changed much since last year.
We then had made reservations at Goofy's Kitchen for dinner, so we had to walk down to the Disneyland hotel. It was a far walk. The food was ok, but we were there for the characters. Triston had a blast he wasn't shy at all. Shara's face lit up when she saw the characters, it was so cute.
After dinner we went back to California Adventures and went on Toy Story Mania again. We also rode on King Triton's Merry-go-round. We stayed there until closing time. Fortunately it wasn't packed because the Water of Color show had technical difficulties, so it wasn't packed. We went on Toy Story Mania several times. I think that it was our favorite ride. We had so much fun.

Disneyland Day 2

Since the day before we stayed at Disneyland we decided to go to California Adventure. We first went to Muppet Vision, it was a cute 3D Muppet show. Triston seemed to like it, but I don't think that he has ever seen the Muppet's before. Next we decided to head over to Monsters Inc ride.

After Monsters Inc ride we walked out and found a few Disney characters; Mr Incredible and no other then Woody! Katie and I were so excited, but the kids were pretty shy.
We ate lunch then decided to go and watch the live Aladdin Musical spectacular show. We walked around the theater and waited in line, but Triston had another objective. There was a group of people that were eating McDonald, waiting for the show to start and Triston took it upon himself to make himself comfortable and sit down with them and help them eat their fries. He just started talking and sat down by them. They thought he was so cute that they made the biggest mistake, they offered him some French fries. He loves McDonald's fries! The at first gave him a couple and then they gave him a bag with them in it and Triston decided that they were his now. He stole a whole bag of French fries from them. They were really nice to let him do that. He was so happy after that. He was glowing! The show was awesome! The genie was so funny, they had a lot of special affects. Triston fell asleep at the beginning, I guess it better than him being noisy.
After the show we had a little incident with Katelyn's phone, so one we found it we decided to go ride some more rides. We went and snapped some photo's with Lightning McQueen and Mater.

We ended up going to the Redwood Creek Challange trail. The Kids had so much fun running and playing. We stayed there for a while, when we were leaving we saw Kenai and Koda from the Disney movie Brother Bear. Triston was a little afraid, but they were so cute.

After the challange trail we decided to head over to Bugs Life and splash in the water. Triston and Shara had so much fun.
The kids played in the water for a while then we decided to go on a few more rides. We headed back into Bugs Land and rode some of Flicks carnival rides. We rode every single ride and the kids thought that the lady bug ride was the funest.

After Bugs Life we had dinner and then decided to go over to Toy Story Mainia! It was a long ride, but it went pretty fast. We got our 3D glasses and were ready to play some arcades. Triston did pretty well for a 3 year old. Shara did even better. The only problem was that I didn't put Triston's restrain on tight enough and he kept banging his head every time the ride turned. Poor kid, but he still enjoyed himself. I think that this was my favoirte ride! Tristons first score was 8,900 points. He did Awesome!
After Toy Story Mainia I wasn't feeling good, so we just sat down and decided to wait for the Water of Color show. We waited for a while, but it was worth it. We were sitting on the back side of the show, but it was good enough for me. Triston didn't watch much of it, we wore him out. He passed out before the show started, but Shara liked it.
After the show we decied to head back to the hotel, but on our way out there was music and a dancing area at the front of California adventures. So the kids decided to have fun and dance a while. Triston was hilarious, I don't know if we could call it dancing, but he was having a blast. I was to tired, so Katelyn joined in and danced a little. They were having so much fun! We danced for a while then we heading back to the Hotel. We had a busy but fun day.

Disneyland 2010

Triston has been watching the Disney channel a lot lately and has been talking about Mickey Mouse, so I decided that he would have a fun time this year if we went back to Disneyland. We were fortunate to have a free 4 night stay at the Redlion, so I decided to use it. This is Triston's third time I going to Disneyland, I would love to make it a tradition, but I guess we will have to see.

July 5th 2010

For our 1st day we decided to go over and see Tinker Bell at Pixie Hollow, because Shara was with us. The line wasn't to long, but Pixie Hollow was pretty small. They only had 3 fairies; Tinkerbell, Terance and Fawn. Triston was a little scared of Tinkerbell, but we were able to get some cute pictures. After Pixie Hollow we decided to go to Buzz Lightyear ride. Triston loved it. He had so much fun shooting his gun. He didn't do to bad for a 3 year old. We then decided to test our driving skills at Auto Topia. Triston and Shara were excited to get their drivers license. Triston loves to drive, unfortunately he needs some practice steering, he almost popped out of the car five times because he couldn't drive straight. What a crazy driver!
We then waited in the longest line ever at Finding Nemo's submarine ride. Triston wasn't very patient, he ran ahead several times and I almost lost him. He finally did better after Aunt Kate gave him a Mickey Mouse sucker. Finally got on the submarine and saw Nemo and his friends, the kids had so much fun.
We were ready for lunch and there as a parade starting in an hour, so we choose some prime benches on the parade route. After Triston ate his sandwich I decided to buy him his favorite food "Kok corn." While we were waiting this friendly duck came over and eat popcorn right out of my fingers.

Triston didn't last long, he passed out before the Celebration street party started. But we had fun anyways. We saw a lot of characters in the street party, to bad Triston missed it.

After the Street Party we went over to the Winnie the Pooh ride. We ended up going into this shop after the ride and the kids saw these stripped treats so we bought them. Triston had a Tigger tail and Shara had the Cheshire cat tail. The tails were made of marshmallows covered in Carmel and colored chocolate. They were pretty sweet, so we were only able to eat about half of each tail.

We ended up stopping in this shop by Splash Mountain and Triston put on some Mickey ears and picked some out for me so I decided to buy him his first pair of Mickey ears. He was so cute. For Shara we bought her a princes crown, she looked so pretty. For Katelyn's souvenir she decided to get this hat, it looked really cute on her.

We ended up going in Tarzan's Tree house. It was a lot of work, so Triston and I only went up once and Katelyn and Shara went up again. After the tree house we decided to go watch the magic makers fireworks above the castle. Then we went straight over to Fantasmic in front of rivers of America. I saw Fantasmic last year, but Katelyn and Shara have never seen it. It was pretty cool. After the show we decided to call it a night and headed back to the hotel. We were exhausted but had a fun day.

Triston & Mom playing in Disneyland

Chris, Triston and I took a family vacation to Anaheim California in August for another visit to the Magical Kingdom. Chris was able to get tickets for the Blizzcon gaming conference (Creator of World of War craft). So I decided that it wasn't fair for him to go on vacation by himself, so I decided to take Triston back to the Magic Kingdom to see Mickey. We decided to fly this time instead of drive, I don't know what is worse, because traveling with a little kid is some what challenging. You have so much crap that you have to bring.

Anyways we arrived on Thursday and settled in. Chris had to get his ticket for the conference so Triston and I decided to go with him. What a mistake. It was the longest line ever. We stood there for over 2 hours, just for Chris to get his ticket. On Friday Chris went to his conference and Triston and I went to Disneyland.

Me and Triston with Mickey

I decided this year to take Triston to a Character breakfast. We went to Breakfast in the park with Minnie and Friends. He had so much fun with all the characters. We saw Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too! We saw Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, Chip and Dale, Captain Hook, Goofy's son Max and of course Minnie Mouse. Triston had fun dancing with them and touching there noses. He was really cute with them. Definitely worth it!

After breakfast it was time to ride some rides. Triston wasn't to excited to ride the rides, but once we got into the car at Autopia he got excited right away! He couldn't even see over the dash board, but that didn't stop him. He had so much fun driving a car. He had the biggest smile on his face. We went on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster and of course he love to shoot a gun, he didn't do so bad. Of course we had to get the Astro Blaster gun after the ride, and now it is one of his favorite toy.

We went on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, he loved the bubbles
and looking for Nemo and his friends.

We went over to Critter Country, well Triston decided to take a nap and so I decided to ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, thinking that he would wake up when we got on, but he didn't he slept through the whole thing.

Triston missing the action!

Triston slept for a while so I decided to people watch until he woke up. After he woke up I decided to go the the Pirates lair on the island. Triston had a blast going through caves and running across the bridges. I had to hold him us so he could look out of the telescope. He had so much fun!

We went over to Toon Town and drove the cars, went to Goofy's house, Donald boat, Chip and Dales Tree house and Mickey's house. We didn't go on any rides, because it was close to closing time, but we were able to
see Mickey again.

I wanted to see some of the show in California Adventures, because we were unable to go to any last year. I took Triston to Play House Disney show. He was a little grumpy, but after it started he got into the show. He loved seeing Mickey and his friends, Handy Manny and his tools and Winnie the Pooh and friends. He was jumping up and down when Handy Manny fixed the bubble machine and bubbles fell down from the ceiling.

Triston Loves Lighting McQueen and Mater, so we decided to go and see them. Triston decided that they needed to be washed. Silly boy!
In California Adventures in a Bugs Life there is several water splash area's that kids can play in. Triston loves to play in water, he had a blast.

We waited in the longest line ever at Toy Story Mania, but it was the funnest. It was 3-D arcades, but they didn't fit on Triston's head, but he still did pretty good shooting at all that targets. I only wish that it was a longer ride.

Triston and I had a blast. I would definitly want to go back just the two of us!
