Christmas Card

I decided to make a more professional cards this year. I make
up another card, but it was really expensive. So I had to down
size. I think that these turned out fine, at least my hair looks
better this year!
(Thanks to my friend Kim who took our pictures.)

We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas,
and we hope that everyone is enjoying the holidays.
Love The Dent's

SaNtA's LaP

I took Triston to sit on Santa's lap at South Towne Mall. They have changed it. It is so cute, they have little activities for the kids while they are waiting in line. We ended up getting there while Santa was on lunch break, so we had to wait around for a while but it was worth it. Triston did very well this year, but he wasn't looking at the camera. He is so cute he says "Ho Ho Ho Merry Kis-is (Christmas)!"

He loves to push button, so he had so much fun!

McMullin X-mas Party

So Every year we have a McMullin Christmas party with my moms side of the family. This year we only had a dessert party and Santa, so it wasn't very fun for everyone. The older kids just played basketball all night while the younger ones sat on Santa's lap. Triston did better this year, he actually sat on Santa's lap, but he would not give up his "B" (Binky). When I took it out he wasn't very happy.

Triston and Santa

I was scrapbooking last years pictures and noticed that I didn't get a family picture, so I made sure I took more pictures this year.

Here is some of my family!

So of course Triston likes' any type of balls, so he thought that he could play basketball with the big kids. He tried so hard to throw it up to the basket, but he was a little short. Chris and I tried to lift him up to see if that helped, but he would always drop the ball. He had so much fun.

Christmas Lights

So I finally bought lights to put on our 2 year old house. I ended up having to by 3 boxes of red lights and 3 boxes of clear lights, because they didn't have any red and clear mixed. We were lucky that the weather was so nice Thanksgiving weekend. We ended up calling my dad to borrow his big ladder so we could get up on the roof. We ended up having him watch Triston while I was helping Chris on the roof. Chris wasn't happy that I was up there with him and he got pissed every time I got close to the edge, but I know that it would go faster if I helped him with applying the plastic hooks. We had fun, it was a little scary, but we got it done! So of course I had to take pictures.
Chris was trying to get light on the very edge of the little over hang
he wasn't very happy that I was taking pictures.

The King of the World or just maybe the house!

Here is the finally product! I think it turned out good!

Turkey Day

Turkey Day didn't start off that good. I worked the night before and when I got home I stayed up to look at the ads for black Friday. My father-in-law Richard had other plans for turkey dinner, so he came over Thanksgiving morning and had Thanksgiving breakfast. Triston loves his papa so much. I ended up finally falling asleep at about eleven.

We went over to my older brother Sam's house for turkey dinner. Dinner started at 2pm, but of course I was late because I slept in. Well I missed all the excitement, my sister-in-law Mindy was pulling the turkey out of the oven and some grease spilled in the oven and started a grease fire. My Dad tried to throw water on it which caused it to get bigger, luckily they were able to put it out. It was pretty funny, but I bet it was really scary when it was happening.

It was just my family; my dad, Sam's family, Kate, Shara, my grandma Fumie, Aunt Pam and my Grandpa Roy. It was pretty small gathering, but we had fun. My little brother Alex and his family were not able to come to dinner, but they ended up coming over later. After dinner we went down stairs to watch Four Christmas' movie on Sam's home theater room. It was a pretty relaxing day. Mindy with her burnt oven. Me and my Family!

Playing in the Snow!

Triston loves to help us out. So when Chris started to shovel the driveway Triston wanted to help. So I helped him get his snow cloths on and off he went to help shovel the walk. I don't think he was helping that much, because he was picking up the snow with his shovel and putting it back onto the driveway. He had so much fun. One of our neighbors girls came over and brought her sled, Triston jumped right in, they tried to slide down the front yard, but it wasn't steep enough. But he had fun being pulled around the yard. I guess I need to finally brake down and buy a sled for him this year.

Halloween Fun 2009

This Halloween we finally went to a pumpkin patch, which they were pretty much cleaning up for the year, but we took some pictures and picked up some pumpkins. I wish that I would have gone earlier this season, but for some reason I just never got around to it! The good thing was that Chris was able to go with us this year! Triston Loves his Daddy! He was a little more destructive this year he was trying to squash and kick the pumpkins instead of carry them!
Boys will Be Boys!
We ended up going Trick or Treating at the relatives! We went to Grandpa Mikes house, Claudia's (My dad's neighbor), Aunt Collette's, Grandma Swenson, Papa Dent and Grandpa Fred's house. We were unable to see Grandma Dent, because she went to the U of U game, but she came over on Sunday to see Triston in his costume. All in all we had a fun Halloween!
Our ward had a Halloween Party on the 29th, and I was cancelled from work so we were able to go over and had fun. We ate chili and hot dogs and played games and Triston got a bag of treats. We don't have Trunk or Treat. Triston had a hard time taking turns, but he found some toy tools in the nursery and played with them for a while. Everyone loved his costume! Many of the little kids played with is Buzz blaster.

My dad invited us to his ward Trunk or Treat party! They had a Chili cook off, which made him sick, luckily I didn't try any. They decorated trick or treat bags and had maybe 3 games for 50 kids. It wasn't very planned out, but Triston had fun anyways!

To infinity and Beyond!

Thats right Buzz Lightyear! Triston has been into Buzz Lightyear ever since we went to Disneyland in August, so we decided to let him be Buzz for Halloween instead of a cute furry animal. He Loves Buzz Lightyear so much, we watched Toy Story 2 at least 2-3 times a week. The other day he pointed up to a light in the sky and told me that it was Buzz Lightyear! Now every time we mention Buzz he pretends to fly! He moves side to side and says "Swoosh, Swoosh, Swoosh, Swoosh!"

Triston trying out his costume!
We got him a Buzz Lightyear Blaster
when we were at Disneyland.
Posing in front of our Halloween decorations.
I told him to stand there, but he had to
sit on one of the pumpkins.
Cheese!

Triston being Buzz! Firing his blaster!

The costume came with a purple hat, but he doesn't like it much.
It also came with the light up Buzz glasses.

Little chef!

So this morning I decided to make Triston some breakfast and he said "Momma I cook!" He tried to stand on his little stool which he wasn't tall enough to reach, so I brought over a chair so he could see what was going on. I already had the eggs cooking in the pan and he grabbed the spatula and started cooking scrambled eggs. He did a good job! I thought that I should document him cooking for the first time, so if he becomes a Professional Chef I could tell him that he started cooking at 2 1/2 years old.

Triston cooking for the first time!

It was a little scary, because we have a gas stove, but luckily he didn't burn himself!

Eggs Anyone?

He was so proud of himself! He even sprinkled cheese over his eggs!

Sleeping standing up!

So the other day I found Triston taking his nap standing up! Silly boy, I don't know how long he was sleeping like that, but I thought it was funny. He loves to sleep with his "B" (aka blanket) over his head. He didn't look to uncomfortable, but I didn't want him to have numb legs when he woke up, so I did tuck him into his bed. What a funny little boy I have!

This is how I found him!

Scrapbook-aholic

Hmm.... Have you ever thought that you were addicted when your dinning room table and counter top was covered in scrapbook madness? I have! I admit that I am scrapbook-aholic! Well I have been using the dinning room table for the last year, and I decided I need to get my own space. So my awesome Sister-in-law Amie was searching on ksl classifieds and she found me an awesome scrapbook cabinet! Thank Amie!
My Dinning room mess!

I also take over the front room!

Ta Da! Here is my amazing scrapbook cabinet! I got it at such a good deal! Thanks to my husband's bargaining skills I even got it $100 cheaper than they were asking. It is made out of knotty alder and is white washed. The funny thing was I found a flier about this cabinet from
and expo and I looked it up online and it retails at $2400 and I only got it for $700!

Thanks to my brother Alex, my husband and the other 3 men from my ward
that had to carry it into the house!

Here is the inside peek of my scrapbook world!
The sad thing is that I already have it 2/3rds full!

I love the fact that my Cricut Expression fits perfectly!
I love all the drawers and all the slots to hold 12 x12 paper,
and best of all it has its own flip out table if I ever need to use it!
I LOVE my scrapbook cabinet!

Monkey Mischeif

So my cleaver little boy decided last weekend that he didn't need my help
to wash his hands that he is a big boy and can do it himself! He is growing
up so fast! In these pictures he is actually washing his shoe.

He places his potty stool by the sink.

He grabs onto the counter top and pulls himself up!
Go Muscles!

He is climbing the cabnet.

He balences on his belly and is able to turn on the water.

He turnes of the water

And finally lowers himself back down to safety!
He think that he is so big! He just does it the hard way!

Playing in Legoland

Since we were in California we decided to take Triston to Legoland. Chris and I have never been there before, so we thought it would be fun. We rented a mustang convertible and drove down to Legoland. We got there a little late, but we decided to make the best of it. The first ride that we went on was Safari Trek. It was fun for Triston, because he LOVES to drive a car. The lego animals were pretty cool looking. We then tried to go on a roller coaster that was close by, but they didn't let Triston ride on, because of his height. So we decided to go on a boat ride, but when we got up to the front the ride broke down. We were having much luck!

.

We went over to a play town and Chris and Triston took a ride on the Legoland Express. It was kind of lame, but Triston liked it. We let him play for a while, then we decided to go on a couple of more rides. Here are a couple pictures of my silly monkey climbing all over everything!

We know that he loved to drive a car, so we faked his age to 3 years old and let him drive a car around on a race track. He did OK, but he is not very coordinated. He couldn't push the peddle and drive at the same time, but he did make it half way down the race track before time was up. He then got a drivers license which he sat down on a bench and investigated it for a couple of minuets. He is a funny little kid!

We then went and rode on the helicopters which Triston couldn't get enough of. So after I went on it with him, he had to drag his dad to go on it again. He cracks me up, because he couldn't even reach the controller that moved the helicopter up and down and around in a circle. His laughter and smiles were priceless. He was in heaven! We went down to Fun Town Fire Academy and our family won first place in a race of 3 other families. We were awesome! After that Chris took Triston on an airplane ride I am not sure if he liked it, but we made him go on it anyways!

We walked around for a little while and finally came to a place called the "Hideaways." It was a playground with nets to climb, slides to slide down and much more. Luckily it had stairs throughout so I didn't have to climb through anything. Triston had so much fun! He didn't want to leave.

We then went to Mini USA, It was awesome! I always wanted to make a city out Lego's. They had the Golden Gate Bridge, Daytona Raceway, New York City, Las Vegas Strip, Washington D.C. and much more. It thought it was pretty cool! I don't think that Triston enjoyed it as much as I did.

Then we went to a "Build and Test" area and played with Lego's. Triston had fun, but I think Chris had the most fun. He decided to build Triston's name in Lego's. It look cool, but Triston didn't want his picture taken by it. He was not having it!

New at Legoland, or by Legoland is a new marine life aquarium called "Sea Life." It was fun, Triston was about to see a giant lobster, bigger than his head! He was also was able to feel a star fish an a Hermite crab. He had fun looking at all the different kinds of fish. We saw Nemo and his Dad and we saw sing rays and sharks. It was fun look at everything, but we had to go through it fast, because it closed at 8 p.m. We then started heading home and Chris decided to take the top off of the convertible so we drove with it down for a while, it was soooooo cold, so we decided to put it back up before we jumped back onto the freeway. I only wish that we would have gotten there sooner, because I felt like we had to rush everything.
